Introduction
Textron Aviation created the Citation XLS+ as an upgraded version of its famous XLS Citation jet. With upgrades throughout the cabin and cockpit, including a Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, the biggest upgrade is the nose design.
The Citation XLS+ is powered by two Pratt & Whitney 544C turbofan engines, which provide over 4,000 pounds of thrust. This power output enables the Citation XLS+ to achieve speeds upwards of 500 miles per hour.
Interior
The Citation XLS+ is capable of carrying 9 passengers. To do that, the cabin has to not only offer the room, but also the comfort. Thus, the seats are made of high-quality leather.
The seat configuration offers passengers plenty of room. All seats recline, allowing passengers to stretch out. The cabin is heated and cooled throughout by filtering fresh air from the engines.
The cabin height throughout the Citation XLS+ is well over 5 feet. With the width of the cabin the same as its predecessor, and a length of over 18 feet long, passengers have plenty of room throughout the cabin.
Cockpit
Textron outfitted the Citation XLS+ with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion 21 avionics suite. This avionics suite connects with XM WX Satellite Data, offering the crew the most up-to-date weather radar system to help keep safety the priority.
The avionics suite offers emergency procedure automation. It also includes digital checklists, airport diagrams, and diagnostic systems. In addition, the Pro Line 21 implements a heads-up display for both pilots.
